I think we can agree that nowadays we have much more to be concerned about what is in the food and drink that we consume. At least in bygone days food and drink was much less processed. It generally wasn't altered genetically, nor double-doused with Glyphosate or pesticides, pumped with steroids & antibiotics, nor nutritionally depleted, nor mixed with trans fats, highly salted or sugared, nor contained other man-made chemicals, preservatives, heavy metals, leeched with hormone altering BPA, or contain other toxic radioactive isotopes such as Cesium 134, 137, Strontium, etc (have I missed anything?). In fact we can look back nostalgically and fondly at how food was less processed, less of a big business, probably seasonal and produced locally (or maybe that's too rosy?). So with regards to food if you can choose discerningly, grow, or can afford some organic food you're being more mindful about what you put in your body .
I want to share with you my "Chi fueled" and delicious breakfast recipe. It took me a long time to come round to blended smoothies. I was skeptical of blending certain raw foods together to produce something that my very discerning palate would enjoy. I would much rather have had melted cheese on toast or bacon and eggs swimming in melted bacon fat for breakfast than rabbit juice. But much to my surprise eating/drinking blended raw food has been delicious, complimenting and adding to the energy flow I get from Taiji practice - now I'm a true believer. Here are the ingredients for the above picture -
One Apple
Kale leaves without the hard stems or beetroot leaves (organic)
One decent sized banana
A thumbnail size portion of crushed Tumeric (organic)
Teaspoon of honey
Organic Soy Milk (most soy beans are GMO)
Natural Yoghurt
A splash of water to dilute.
Enjoy! And do some Taiji practice today, even if it isn't perfect.
