Even though my daughter, wife & I are in close contact for long periods of time daily, eating similar foods, sharing the same space, I did not get noticeably sick. Maybe a day or two where I felt weak as if I were coming down with the flu but with a good night's sleep soon back to normal. Out of all this suffering I sincerely believe, and am grateful that my regular Tai Chi practice has strengthened my immune system and my balanced chi flow has allowed me to escape such prolonged and intense infections. This type of resistance isn't an exception but more the norm in my experience - generally speaking I very rarely ever need to go to see the doctor. Or if I come down with a virulent flu strain that has been doing the rounds, I am able to soon bounce back after some honey, ginger and lemon and a night (or at the most two nights) of good rest - whilst I notice that my peers in the same environment take significantly longer to recover. I am not boasting but more grateful, and sincerely believe that regular Tai Chi practice (no matter how simple the exercises) can do wonders in protecting your health against illnesses, it's not just empty advertising words, and I encourage any of my past or present students (and anyone who has learned "some" good quality Taiji) to keep practicing everyday.
